2023 was an incredible year for DTC. We are just now catching our breath and putting together the stories and data to share with community partners.
DTC continues to expand its mission promoting children’s arts and arts education. The 2023 holiday season showcased our biggest stretch in 11 years.
Two free public displays were created for Jacksonville and The Beaches. DTC organizers installed and managed both displays for more than two months. The combined experiences represented nine months of planning and preparation.
Jax Beach Deck The Chairs exhibit featured 50 decorated lifeguard chairs, six afternoons and evenings of arts programming (with 1000 plus performers), 23 days of concessions sales (staffed by more than 200 volunteers), and more than 1500 hours of exhibit management.
The DTC Student Decorating Challenge in James Weldon Johnson Park reflected a $50,000 financial commitment to fund student art programs, underwrite new exhibit development along with public space insurance, management and park installation/strikeout costs.
DTC is extremely proud of the public/private support we received in order to achieve greater outreach into the community. Nothing happens without your trust and commitment. We are honored by the tireless DTC committee work, volunteer support (including hundreds of students), partner investment, and donor engagement. It truly requires an entire community to pull off something this special. DTC will never take your love and support for granted.
THANK YOU!!!
