Ways to Volunteer

We are seeking a variety of skill sets in our volunteers, so there is something for everyone!

Volunteers are needed to help set-up the week before Thanksgiving – beginning Wednesday November 15.    Volunteers are also needed to take down the exhibit (lights, signs, etc.) at the end of the DTC event in January.  If you can work for the entire day, please sign up for all shifts that day.

There are a variety of physical requirements needed during this time, so please be sure you click on the best activity for you.

Roles/skills needed:

Very Skilled Volunteer:

We need individuals who are capable of heavy lifting, moving, construction and building using a skill or miter saw.  Heavy lifting and moving ability is needed Monday and Tuesday to help with loading in props from our storage area.  Construction and building skill is needed Wednesday, Thursday & Friday (November 15, 16 & 17).  We also need at least two people who are strong and can climb to the top of the tree to help with stringing its lights.  If you are able to do this task, please put in the comments section.

Medium Skilled Volunteer:

We need individuals who know what to do with a screwdriver and a hammer, but not yet ready for a skill saw.  We are looking for good utility players who can do some lifting to help us with sign placements and other display builds.

General Volunteer:

We need many volunteers each day to help with light work and general chair support.  This includes stringing miles of lights, helping sponsors decorate/build their chairs, running electrical cords, light lifting, etc.  General volunteers can be any adult, high school student and even middle school students!

Please use this to sign up for helping at our concessions tent.  We will be selling both merchandise and food such as hot chocolate, coffee and cookies.  We have two 3 hour shifts.  If you are available to work for both of the shifts, please sign up for bothl!  Grab a friend or family member and have them sign up too!  High school students earn community hour credits.

On occasion, staff may be redirected to help as Ambassadors – helping at the Information Tent and/or walking the park ensuring children are not climbing on the displays.

You, our volunteers, are the ones who really make the magic happen!  Thanks again!
